Saturday 8th – Sunday 9th September 2012
Well, what can i say. Firstly i think i should say a MASSIVE thank you to my sister, Amanda Sparks for organising what can only be described as the Hen Doo of all Hen Doo’s!! It was AMAZING from start to finish! I love surprises and being kept in the dark right up until each and every aspect of the weekend was wonderful.
From being collected from home at 10.30am by my chauffeur Marie Hill (thanks) and driven down the M5, with a slight 30 minute detour through every place beginning with B (Birmingham, Barnt Green, Blackwell, Bromsgrove) and then ended up in BRISTOL!! Should have guessed it really as JoJo France was flying out from Bristol to go home. Penny didn’t drop, i just took her reason for flying out of Bristol to be because it was cheaper than Birmingham as a given…. just goes to show how trusting am i!!
Any way the hen doo started with arrving at a BIG black wooden door to be let into a gorgeous victorian building with candlelabras, chandeliers and oak pannelled walls to be lead to a room with chesterfield chairs and champagne!! Still having no idea as to what was going to happen…. after about 30 minutes i realised that the 2 women at the end of the room were doing peoples make up!! Still then nothing twigged – think i was still over come with seeing everyone and thinking i need a drink!!
Then i got called up for make up and all was revealed…… it was a photo shoot!! So now everything made sense why my sister had to help me pack my suitcase!!
The photo shoot was amazing – very tiring, but amazing!! Everyone enjoyed them selves and still the bubbles kept being poured!
Then when that finished it was a quick get back to the hotel you have half an hour to get changed and meet in room 262!!! Where i was given all my bridal wear….. and to set the theme all the girls were told to wear red and black….. the red being because all my bridal wear had a theme too….. can you guess….?? if you guessed ELMO – you are correct!! 
I had an Elmo champagne glass, an Elmo veil and to top it off an Elmo garter!!! Yep, i was Elmo’d to the max!!!
Taxi time arrived to be lead back to the Victorian building where we had the photo shoot…. thought hhhmmm what are we doing here again…. i was lead up to the room the call The Attic!! All light with candles and dim lighting…. thought this is fantastic…. a private dinner room with all 18 of my hen party… to then discover there was another twist!! This was no normal private dinner…. this was a MURDER MYSTERY DINNER PARTY!! DA DAH DAAAAAAAAA!!!…….. and OMG it was the best thing EVER!!! LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!!! Everyone did…. and the fact that my own mother was the murderer was hilarious!!
Cant tell you the plot line, because we were all sworn to secrecy but it was PWURFECT!! (you girls will know what i mean by mis-spelling!!)
After the dinner we went on to a club called Java. Well we all danced our butts off and must have drank all the pineapple vodka shots!! Jaeger bombers, champagne the place had….. We did get asked to leave the club – but that was only coz they were trying to close up!!! lol!!
So around 6am i went to sleep (sorry Jo Foster – for chatting til the cows came home – LMAO!!) to then get up at 9am to have breaky with everyone…..which was gorgeous!! I still wore all my Elmo get up and then was treated to Spa treatments!! I had a lovely neck and head massage and the most amazing facial!! (no rude comment please – lol) then nails done…
Words cant describe how much that weekend meant to me, i think you all know, coz of the crying i did during my little speech at the dinner (sorry i made you all cry) and then the tears i had in the night club!!
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart to each and everyone of you (and to Estelle, who couldn’t be there but i know helped with the planning too).
It means the world to me that you all came on my hen weekend to Bristol. Some from near, some from far and some from just down the road!! Thank you!!
Just going to get ready for round two now!! Details to be sent out shortly…….. so watch out BRUM!!!!
